This year, Canada’s new government is taking additional steps to strengthen support for seniors by doubling the maximum grant amount available through the program from $25,000 to $50,000. This increase will help community organizations expand programs, reach more seniors, and strengthen connections across our communities.

The NHSP provides funding for projects designed by seniors and for seniors that help strengthen social inclusion and community participation.
|
Projects must support one or more of the following objectives:
- Promoting volunteerism among seniors and other generations
|
- Engaging seniors in the community through mentoring
|
- Expanding awareness of elder abuse, including financial abuse
|
- Supporting the social participation and inclusion of seniors
|
- Providing capital assistance for new and existing community projects or programs for seniors
|
APPLY BY JULY 14, 2026
| Applications must be submitted electronically through the Grants and Contributions Online Services (GCOS) portal. A valid Canada Revenue Agency Business Number is required for all applicants this year. |
